RE: Mobile COVID-19 testing unit to visit Crawford County
The Crawford County Health Department is investigating a community outbreak of COVID-19 with seven lab confirmed cases. We have confirmed cases from Villa’s Country Store, which is currently closed. All known confirmed and probable cases have been asked to self-isolate and close contacts identified by public health officials have been asked to quarantine. There have not been any deaths or hospitalizations.
In collaboration with the Illinois Department of Public Health, a mobile COVID-19 testing unit is being arranged for the county. We will release dates, times, and location for the testing site as soon as this information becomes available. This service is available to anyone seeking testing. Essential workers (including health care, first responders, grocery store workers, and anyone working with vulnerable populations) as well as individuals with symptoms or those who have been in contact with known positive cases of COVID-19, are encouraged to be tested. A physician’s order is not required. There is no cost to individuals; please present insurance card at time of service if applicable.
All residents are reminded to continue to practice social distancing, wear face coverings when in public, monitor themselves for symptoms, and stay home if any COVID symptoms develop.
