What is a Car Seat Check-up Event? According to the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration, 4 out of every 5 car seats are used incorrectly. As an answer to this obvious problem, the Safe Kids Chapter hosts 4 car seats checks annually. During these events, certified child passenger safety technicians examine your car seat and how it is installed in your vehicle. The technician then assists in the proper installation of your car seat. The rodeo is designed to bring kids together so they can learn these skills in a fun and exciting way. The Safe Kids Chapter tries to host at least 2 rodeos in the community annually. When would be the best time for a Safe Kids event? Any of these, or other, Safe Kids related events can be held alone, or as a part of another organized event, such as a Safety Day or Health Fair. For more information on Safe Kids and Safe Kids Initiatives, go to www.safekids.org. |
